Location

Location for the 2011 Runamuck Spring Challenge Event on March 5th is Clonkerran House.

The location is by kind permission of Louis Robinson and the event will take place in the farmland surrounding Clonkeeran House which is near Kilshanroe, Johnstown Bridge in north Co Kildare.

Directions on how to get to the Runamuck Challenge are as follows:

From Dublin take N4 west from Jct 7 of M 50 - Signposted Sligo

Follow onto M4 (Toll) to J9 (Enfield) and from this junction follow signs to Johnstown Bridge on R402.

Continue straight through Johnstownbridge passing by Hamlet Hotel on the left hand side - venue for after event prizegiving and race carpooling - Please use this to avoid congestion and possibly getting stuck in our parking field.

Continue straight on R402 about 1.5km past the village of Kilshanroe (about 6 km from Johnnstown Bridge) turn Right into grounds of Clonkeeran House and follow signs to designated parking area.

 An alternative to this (About 5 mins longer journey time) to avoid paying motorway toll for a 12km section of motorway is to leave M4 at J8 (Kilcock) and take 3rd exit from big roundabout (Signposted R148 Enfield) - Upon reaching roundabout at Enfield after approx 9km you take the first left onto the bypass and then left at the traffic lights toward Johnstownbridge on R402. Continue straight on R402 about 1.5km past the village of Kilshanroe (about 6 km from Johnnstown Bridge) turn Right into grounds of Clonkeeran House and follow signs to designated parking area.

The journey from J9 (Enfield) to the venue is about 10 mins by car

From the West and North West: exit the M4 (Toll) J9 (Enfield and then follow signs for R402 to Johnstown Bridge/ Edenderry) and continue straight on R402 about 1.5km past the village of Kilshanroe (about 6 km from Johnnstown Bridge). Turn Right into grounds of Clonkeeran House and follow signs to designated parking area.

Alternatively to avoid paying Toll leave N4 at Kinnegad and follow the old N4 (Now designated the R 148) east towards Enfield passing through Clonard. Continue straight into Enfield and then turn right at traffic lights and continue straight to Johnstown Bridge on R402 (Direction Edenderry) and continue straight on R402 about 1.5km past the village of Kilshanroe (about 6 km from Johnnstown Bridge) turn Right into grounds of Clonkeeran House and follow signs to designated parking area.

The journey from J9 (Enfield) to the Venue is about 10 mins by car.

From the South:

You need to take J13 from the M7 and follow signs to old N7 and into Kildare town where you turn left at main crossroads traffic lights just before the "square" (and the Silken Thomas Pub) -following signs for Kilmeague.

Follow the R415 north to Milltown (where you turn left at school), then onto Kilmeague (where you turn left following main road) and Allenwood (where you turn left at T junction onto the R403).

Follow the R403 to Carberry and then continue on straight on R402 from Carberry towards Enfield and Johnstownbridge.

The race venue and parking is on your left approx 4km from Carberry.

If you reach Kilshanroe you have missed the venue by approx 1.5km

It is 35km to the Venue from J 13 of the M7 so please allow 40mins for safe driving

From the North:

Either go Cross-country via Navan and Trim to Enfield OR Take M50 and M4 to Enfield (As "From Dublin" above)

From Enfield follow R402 (Direction Edenderry) through Johnstownbridge (Hamlet Hotel is venue for after event prizegiving and carpooling). About 1.5km past the village of Kilsharoe (about 6 km from Johnstown Bridge) turn Right into grounds of Clonkeeran House and follow signs to designated parking area.
