2010 Runamuck ChallengeWhat: Off Road Run Challenge for Joggers and Runners of all abilities (1 and 2 lap options)Where: In grounds of Clonkeeran House, near Johnstown Bridge, Co Kildare (Just off N4 approx 25 mins drive from Jct 7 of M50)When: Saturday 16th Oct 2010 at 11amWhy: A new fun challenge for all - This is not a regular road or conventional cross country run be assuredThe Runamuck Challenge is a cross country running event over a wet and mucky course with various man made and natural obstacles including bale "jumps", net scrambles, tarzan swings, ladder bridges, ditchs, streams, tyres and tunnels designed to test your mental and physical strength, and to leave you with a great sense of achievement and a big grin on your face! Click HERE To Enter Muckers Course: 1 lap Muckers course is approx 4.5km long but it is expected to take between 25 and 50 minutes to complete a single lap depending on your fitness level and aptitude to overcome the challenge of the terrain and obstacles on the course. Serious Muckers Course:The 2 lap Serious Muckers course is approx 9km but it is expected to take between 50 and 100 minutes to complete the two laps depending on your fitness level and aptitude to overcome the challenge of the terrain and obstacles on the course. If you have pushed yourself to your limit on the first lap there will be the option of stopping after one lap and be included in the Muckers Results or alternatively you can continue to complete a second lap and try to improve your first lap performance and receive a Serious Muckers ranking. Muckers and Serious Muckers - Team Challenges:There will be two options for this Team Challenge - Muckers (1 Lap) and Serious Muckers (2 Laps). Each lap of the course is approx 4.5km long but it is expected to take between 25 and 50 minutes to complete each of the two laps depending on your fitness level and aptitude to overcome the challenge of the terrain and obstacles on the course. All members of the Team must compete on the same course and the team time will be taken when the final member of the team has crossed the finish line. Durty Duo - Pairs Relay:The two person Durty Duo class is designed to allow each member of the pair to compete at their own level for one lap of the course. After the first member of the pair has commpleted the first lap they will hand over a baton to the second member of the pair. Each lap of the course is approx 4.5km but with obstacles to be overcome along the way it expected to take between 25 and 50 minutes to complete each of the two laps depending on your fitness level and aptitude to overcome the obstacles. Race Entry: Race Entry is open to Individuals, Pairs or Teams which can be made up of any number from 3 upwards. To Enter please click here Entry Cost*: €25 for entries before 30th April 2010 €30 between 1st May and 30th August 2010 €35 Late entries - After 1st September 2010 Race Entry is open to Individuals or Teams which can be made up of any number from 3 upwards. * Entries cost includes on-line entry service providers comission charge Teams with 6 or more on-line registered participants will recieve a refund of 20% of their total race entry fee To enter Please Click HERE Prizes will be awarded to fastest individuals (male and female) and the Teams with the fastest finish time on each course plus some spot prizes for fancy dress and general prizeworthiness. It is up to the teams themselves whether to race separately or as a group (Our recommendation) as mutual assistance and encouragement at obstacles is actively encouraged and should prove useful to the team's speed around the course. All members of teams must all complete either the 1 lap Muckers or 2 lap Serious Muckers courses to be included in the official team rankings. If team members wish to compete as individuals they may of course do so and all participants will recieve an individual ranking do so but the team will be ranked when the 3rd team member crosses the line. Please register with the same team name to ensure you will be in with a chance of the coveted Champion Muckers or Champion Serious Muckers Team Title. Prizes will be awarded to fastest individuals (male and female) and the teams with the fastest finish time on each course plus there will be some spot prizes for fancy dress and general prizeworthiness. Basic changing facilities will be provided on the farm but don't expect anything fancy like hot shower or the likes - all part of the challenge and keeps cost down After the event the plan is to adjourn to the nearby Hamlet Hotel for lunch (Event Participant Specials) and prizegiving at approx 3pm and to enjoy the social aspect of this unique event and thereafter you can stay on and enjoy past race atmosphere The Runamuck Challenge event is organised by Multisport Adventure Ireland Ltd For more details about us and the other events we organise please refer to our site - www.msai.ie
